"I'm fine as well." he smiles "You look like you have worries though."

He just holds her close for a while.

Zelda nods.

"I realize that."

Nomad

"A large metal ring with a bunch of weird symbols around it. Makes a big "whoosh" sound when it opens up and looks like a puddle of water."

Earth

"... What?!"

Dammerung

"Just... Meaning of life stuff."

Valhalla

Lenneth just leans against him awhile.

Hyrule

"Jump in."

Nomad

"Sounds strange."

Earth

"If those scrolls are prophetic as you told me, then what is written is meant to happen, and it is written he will die."

Dammerung

"I see." he says "You... shouldn't worry too much about that. I'm not convinced life makes sense in the first place."

Valhalla

"I won't force you to do anything." he tells her "For now, you're already raising our child, it's a lot."

Hyrule

Zelda does just that.

Nomad

"Yeah, kind of but I'm serious."

Earth

"I am not letting him die!"

Dammerung

"All life makes sense."

Valhalla

"She is a handful, for being your daughter."

Hyrule

As does Daniel.

"So, do I have anyone else to pick up?"

Nomad

"I believe it." he says and looks at the planet

Earth

"I am only translating the content of those scrolls."

Dammerung

"Yes, but we give it sense." he says "There are no greater purpose, there are no Gods with a greater design in mind. In the end we're fated to die, along with the universe. There is no natural purpose to life, we give it a purpose with words."

Valhalla

"And yours."

Hyrule

"We have to talk to Sam still."

Nomad

Vega looks around.

Earth

"Then the scrolls can burn in hell."

Dammerung

"I'm not the same as everyone else though, I don't exist the same as humans."

Valhalla

"I don't recall ever being such a handful."

Hyrule

"Who again?"

Nomad

He points the map.

"I think what you seek is at Midgard."

He raises an eyebrow.

"I wish you good luck."

Dammerung

"You're bound to this universe." he says "Humans or not, nothing has a real purpose, we give it a purpose. I am not sure why you should be any different."

Valhalla

"I suppose, but you can handle her."

Hyrule

"Samantha Carter."

Nomad

"You've got to be fuckin' kidding me."

Earth

"Then the scrolls can burn in hell."

Dammerung

Aiden just shrugs.

Valhalla

"If I can handle you, I had damn well better be able to handle her."

Hyrule

"Yeah, but who the hell is that?"

Nomad

"Is that a problem?"

Earth

He raises an eyebrow.

"I wish you good luck."

Dammerung

"Consider it." he says "Do you remember what happened when Margulis learnt the truth? That his entire purpose, that what he believed he was destined to do was a lie? It killed him. He would have been better off without a purpose."

Valhalla

He smiles and nods.

Hyrule

"You don't... know her?"

Nomad

"Yeah, that's where we started out from!"

Earth

Parker doesn't reply.

Dammerung

"Then what reason is there to just not sit around and do nothing until you die?"

Valhalla

Lenneth smiles a little.

Hyrule

He pauses.

"I should?"

Nomad

"Oh." he nods "Well, you'll have to go back. Unfortunately, pinpointing its exact location in Midgar is impossible considering the high concentrations of lifestream."

Earth

"I'm sorry, I wish I could be of help."

Dammerung

"What you're saying is nihilism in its darkest form." he says and turns to his books

"I think I have a few books on the topic. There were peoples millenias ago who committed mass suicide upon coming to this realization, but there are better forms of nihilism. Some give themselves the purpose to seek more knowledge, others pursue pleasures for their entire lives, or again some try to attain immortality."

Valhalla

He smiles.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of everything."

[Hyrule

"Well... I thought you should but I suppose I'm wrong."

Nomad

"Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammit."

Earth

She just shakes her head and goes to check on Kyle.

Dammerung

"Already have that last one." Aiden says. Yes, she's still a little mopey.

Valhalla

"Thank you." She smiles a little more.

[Hyrule

Daniel nods

"It's logical." he says "If the Stargate program never started, Sam wouldn't have had a chance to meet him."

Nomad

"..."

Her reactions are surprising to old men.

Earth

He sleeps still.

Dammerung

"If Albedo taught us something, it's that immortality can be removed." he says and smiles a bit "What I mean is that, nobody except yourself can give your life a purpose."

Valhalla

"Don't thank me." he says and kisses her

"Oh." Zelda nods, feeling a little stupid.

Nomad

Doesn't bother Vega any.

Earth

She sits beside his bed and plays with his hair a bit.

Dammerung

"Great." She says simply, unconvinced.

Valhalla

"I already did." She says and kisses him back.

She couldn't have known. He smiles to her and indicates to Jack where to go.

"Should be even harder to convince her..."

Nomad

"I think you should go back and search."

Earth

He wakes up soon after.

Dammerung

He sighs.

"You know, you don't have to be alone either in your quest to find a purpose."

Valhalla

He smiles to her.

"We'll figure something out. We have to."

Nomad

"I guess." Vega sighs.

Earth

Parker smiles a little.

Dammerung

"I suppose not."

Valhalla

Lenneth smiles too, and Mist babbles adorably.

"Don't be so gloom." he says "It could have been worst."

Earth

"Hey." he smiles too

He sighs.

"I think the dinner is going to be ready now."

Valhalla

He smiles.

"Now now, Lenneth, I think we should take some... free time together."

Hyrule

Zelda nods.

Nomad

"I'm not sure how."

Earth

"Sleep well?"

Dammerung

Aiden smiles a little and nods.

Valhalla

"What about Mist?" She asks, blushing a little.

Hyrule

Daniel directs Jack to where she should be.

Nomad

He point Northern Crater

"The Stargate could have been in there."

Earth

"Yeah, thanks!"

Dammerung

He smiles too and goes to the dinner room.

Valhalla

"We can ask your sister to keep her."

Hyrule

Zelda waits until they arrive.

Nomad

"Right..."

"Good." She smiles and kisses the top of his head.

Dammerung

Aiden goes with him.

Valhalla

"Alright, then." She nods.

When they arrive, O'Neill goes to knock to Carter's door, shamelessly.

"Well, we better get going." Otacon says

He smiles too, widely.

Dammerung

Well, the dinner is ready so he sits.

Valhalla

"Don't worry, won't last so long."

Hyrule

Zelda's a little surprised at that.

It doesn't take long for Sam to answer.

"Yes?"

Nomad

"Yeah." Vega nods and sighs.

Earth

"Anything you want to do?"

Dammerung

Aiden sits by him and eats.

Valhalla

Lenneth nods and kisses him before calling Silmeria.

Hyrule

Daniel sighs and follows.

"Samantha Carter?" O'Neill asks

Nomad

"You're welcome here anytime you need." Bugenhagen says

Earth

"I don't know..." he says

Dammerung

"So, what has been happening to you all lately?"

Valhalla

Silmeria arrives shortly.

Hyrule

"That's right, and you are?" Sam questions.

Nomad

"Thanks," Vega nods and goes.

Earth

"That's alright."

Dammerung

"We had a little trouble with Wilhelm." Mary says slowly.

Valhalla

"Silmeria, would you take care of Mist for a little while?"

Hyrule

"Jack O'Neill." he simply replies "And they are... Daniel and Celda if I got it right."

Nomad

Otacon goes with her.

Earth

He smiles a bit.

Dammerung

"Him...?" he says "What happened?"

Valhalla

"Yes, but what about my duty?"
